Historique :	Ce portrait est identifié sur l'arrêté d'inscription comme étant celui du pape Urbain VII. Or, l'inscription placée au bas de la toile et qui identifie le modèle contredit cette affirmation. Vicedominus de Vicedominis est le nom d'un cardinal, neveu du pape Grégoire X Visconti, qui aurait décédé le lendemain de son élection en tant que pape.
